Water Challenges

Water Challenges Shaping Bangladesh

Effluent flowing through the channel of a treatment basin

Industrial effluent

Textile dyeing, washing, finishing, leather processing and other manufacturing activities generate wastewater with variable colour, organic load, salts, solids and process chemicals. Treatment should be selected from the actual effluent analysis and required discharge quality.

Clarifier treating raw water for industrial supply

Groundwater and source-water reliability

Industrial production depends on dependable water supply. Assess source quality, treatment requirements and opportunities to reduce freshwater demand through fit-for-purpose reuse.

Consistent process and utility water

Textile, pharmaceutical, food, power and manufacturing operations require water matched to production, boiler and cooling-system specifications. Filtration, softening, RO and demineralisation are selected against those targets.

Solutions

Solutions Designed Around Bangladesh’s Water Priorities

Industrial effluent treatment

Chemical, biological and tertiary treatment for textile, leather, food-processing and other industrial wastewater, configured to the influent profile and discharge requirements.

Wastewater recycling and high recovery

Segregation and treatment of suitable rinse and process wastewater, followed by UF, RO and polishing for defined reuse applications. High-recovery and ZLD options are evaluated against water balance, discharge requirements and economics.

Process and utility water

Clarification, filtration, softening, RO, ion exchange and polishing for manufacturing water, boiler feed, cooling systems and other industrial utilities.

Consumables and plant performance

HYDRAMEM® membranes, INDION® ion exchange resins, speciality treatment chemicals, antiscalants and membrane cleaners, supported by O&M, spares, performance audits, retrofits and optimisation.
